Four Shanghai tourists were injured in a bus accident in Sabah, Malaysia on Friday.

The bus was carrying 16 Shanghai tourists in total when it lost control and overturned, CCTV reported.

A 37-year-old man suffered a fracture to his vertebra and rib, CCTV said, citing local police.

Two had their hands or feet injured and another suffered cuts to his hands.

Three of the injured have already been discharged from hospital, according to the emergency department of the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism.

One is still receiving treatment at a local hospital and is in a stable condition.

All the injured were male, and the 16 tourists are aged between 24 and 49 years, CCTV reported. Four are women, and they are all part of the same tour group.

Police said the bus, driven by a local, lost control suddenly and overturned in a roadside ditch.
