Two legal service offices for private entrepreneurs have been set up by the Pudong New Area People's Procuratorate.

The offices are on Zhangdong and Huanke Road near the Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone, which is home to a large number of private enterprises.

They have been established with the cooperation of the new area's association of industry and commerce.

When companies need legal services related to fields such as finance and intellectual property, they can seek help via the offices' hotline or go there for a face-to-face appointment with a prosecutor.

For complicated disputes, entrepreneurs can make a phone appointment and have the chief procurator answer their questions at the office.

Cases meeting the conditions for acceptance will be taken on by the procuratorate.

"When we deal with cases involving private enterprises, we often take the companies' business condition, the economic and social effect and public interest into consideration and give a balanced judicial decision," said Zhu Yimin, deputy chief procurator of the procuratorate.

The prosecutors try to avoid influencing the operation of private enterprises to safeguard their vitality for innovation.

The procuratorate also signed a memorandum with the association for further cooperation.

Prosecutors will carry out research and analysis on legal problems and management of private enterprises and file suggestions.

For companies that commit minor crimes with little damage to society and make quick rectification, the procuratorate will consider withdrawing the charge under certain circumstances and have the association participate in the hearing.
