Shanghai’s legislators have reviewed more than 342 local regulatory documents, including rules and resolutions of the district people’s congresses, in the past six years, Shanghai People’s Congress said.

The legislators note the government hasn’t yet worked out the necessary accompanying documents to regulations for banning smoking in public places or for social credit.

Last year, legislators asked the government to review 262 regulatory documents related to nature and environment protection. A total of 15 were found to contradict higher-level laws in some parts.

The government had modified two and abolished three by the end of 2018, and the rest will be dealt with this year, the legislators said.

Shanghai People’s Congress started this job in 2000.
