Mayor Ying meets Ernst & Young dignitaries
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Mark Weinberger, global chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young and former president of the International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council (IBLAC) for the Mayor of Shanghai; and Carmine Di Sibio, E&Y global client service managing partner, on Monday.
Ying thanked E&Y’s continuous support for Shanghai’s social and economic development and Weinberger’s contribution to IBLAC during his presidency.
Ying informed his guests that Shanghai is building an extension to the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, setting up a science and technology innovation board pilot registration system at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and implementing the national strategy for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
The city is preparing for the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) and is recruiting exhibitors. Shanghai welcomes E&Y and other international companies to increase their investment, and the city will keep optimizing its business environment for companies operating there, the mayor added.
Weinberger and Di Sibio said Shanghai’s innovations and opening-up are impressive, so was the maiden CIIE held last year. E&Y and Shanghai have had extensive cooperation and the company will increase its investment in the city and support the second CIIE.
