Events honor China's revolutionary heroes, historic struggle

Students lay flowers during a commemorative event at the Longhua Martyrs’ Memorial on Wednesday. Activities in honor of revolutionary heroes were held across China ahead of Qingming Festival, also known as tomb-sweeping day, which falls on Friday this year. People venturing out to cemeteries in Shanghai can expect clear skies and temperatures in the 20s. 

A poetry reading was held at the Longhua Martyrs’ Memorial on Wednesday. More than 800 students and residents from the city came to the event to pay tribute to martyrs sacrificed for the country.
