The second Sun Music Festival will be held between May 25 and 26 in the city’s coastal area of Lingang in the Pudong New Area.

The event, set along the waterfront of Dishui Lake, will feature 12 popular singers and bands, including Hua Chenyu, Mao Buyi and Hsiao Ching-teng. Fairs, food stalls and other interactive activities will be there too.

The event is organized in Lingang as a way to help promote this emerging community in Shanghai. It is also part of local efforts to integrate culture, tourism and commerce, said Sun Yu, head of Pudong’s culture, sports and tourism bureau.

He said Lingang is developing into a popular destination thanks to attractions such as the Dayin Bookmall, the newly opened Haichang Ocean Park and one of the world’s largest indoor ski facilities, which is under construction.
