Metro line to Chongming Island announced

A new Metro line connecting the Pudong New Area with Chongming Island is slated to start construction later this year, according to a plan released on Friday.

The planned line will have eight stations and cover a total distance of 42.9 kilometers.

Stops on the line are planned for Jinji Road station, where passengers can transfer to Line 9; and Shenjiang Road Station, where passengers can transfer to Line 12. Other stops include: Gaobao Road Station, North Lingkong Road Station, Changxing Island Station, Chenjia Town Station, Dongtan Station, and Yu’an Station.
