As thousands of runners crossed the finish line at Sunday’s 10km run, the 2019 Spring Disney Inspiration Run ended with smiles all around.

With some wearing costumes of Disney’s famous characters like Snow White, Beauty and Beast and Captain Marvel, they ran down flower-lined pathways, along the shores of Wishing Star Lake and through the enchanted attractions of Shanghai Disneyland.

Along the route, beloved Disney characters including Nick and Judy from “Zootopia,” as well as Duffy and his friends, made surprise appearances and cheered participants on every step of the way.

“Avengers” superheroes including Captain Marvel, Black Widow and Doctor Strange, as well as Joy and Sadness from “Inside Out” and Miguel from “Coco,” also made their debut appearance at the Disney Inspiration Run, with Mickey and pals once again meeting runners at the finish line to celebrate completing the race.

Li Penglin from Shanghai won the men’s championship and Xu Yanfang won the women’s title.

This year’s running event started on Saturday with 3.5km and 5km races and the newly introduced Kids Run, attracting about 7,500 participants in different age groups.

A group of wheelchair users and visually impaired participants also embraced the race on weekend, enjoying the unique running experience while also challenging themselves in a fun and healthy way.

All participators of the 2019 Spring Disney Inspiration Run were presented with a Disney character-themed medal.
