Spouses of the consuls-general of Ukraine, Romania, Sri Lanka and Chile in Shanghai joined students’ catwalk at Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten on Friday.

Spouses of the consuls-general of Ukraine, Romania, Sri Lanka and Chile in Shanghai visited the Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten on Friday, for a spring celebration carnival with the kids.

The Spring Parade is part of the kindergarten’s efforts to show the children the cultures of the world.

Built in honor of Soong Ching Ling, Honorary President of People’s Republic of China and wife of Sun Yat-sen, the kindergarten advocates excellent Chinese culture and the essence of education of China while taking in the best international methods.

The spouses saw first-hand the educational philosophy of the kindergarten during their trip, which included meeting the kindergarten administrators and participating in the Spring Hat Exhibition and Parade.

They watched a catwalk show by kindergarten students wearing the traditional costumes of their home countries, appreciated hats made by kids and parents and presented awards.

They also shared the traditions of spring celebrations from their home countries, such as coloring Easter eggs and having Easter bread known as Paska in Ukraine.
