Party Secretary Li meets delegation of overseas investors

Shanghai Party Secretary Li Qiang met Zhang Lei, the founder and CEO of Hillhouse Capital Group, and a delegation of overseas investors on April 26.

Li introduced the economic and social development status of the city and listened to suggestions from the overseas investors.

Shanghai is actively building a first-class business environment and providing investment institutes with high-quality services so as to better serve the real economy, Li said.

Finance is a pillar industry of Shanghai. According to the decisions and arrangements of the central government, the city aims to become the world’s top financial center by 2020, he revealed. Shanghai will further deepen financial reforms and gather more financial institutes.

Zhang said the 2019 Hillhouse Capital Group Overseas Investors Summit aims to promote the Chinese capital market to the whole world. He hoped to deepen cooperation with the city to achieve further development.
