Blue hats and black belts are replacing the previous white versions in traffic police uniforms in Baoshan District.
Starting from May 1, traffic police in Baoshan District will wear blue hats and black belts instead of white hats and belts, the district police announced on Tuesday.
Police said the change will come with adjustments in the duty of traffic police and the way traffic management is organized in the district.
A police officer from Minhang District, where similar reforms are on trial, told Shanghai Daily previously that the duties of traffic police and officers working for police stations will be integrated to make law enforcement more efficient.
