Shanghai presented in Cuba in pictures
A month-long photo exhibition of Shanghai is underway in the Cuban capital, Havana, according to the Shanghai Civilization Office.
The exhibition, in Havana’s Chinatown, was organized by the governments of Shanghai and Havana to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 500th anniversary of the founding of the city of Havana.
In 50 pictures, Shanghai is shown as a city of international appeal, innovation, culture and life in nature, and its links with Cuba are exemplified by a statue of José Julián Martí Pérez, a famous Cuban poet, in a downtown Shanghai street park, and the Cuban national pavilion at the World Expo 2010.
Cuba was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with China.
