City establishes key professional committees
Three professional committees of the city's key industries - circuits, bio-medicine and artificial intelligence - have been formed to support the city’s ambition to become an innovation center with global influence.
The three committees, formed under the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, will act as a think-tank and platform connecting university professors, academics from research institutes and leading industrial players.
They will promote academic exchanges, offer strategic consultation to government and lead healthy industrial development.
Fudan University president Xu Ningsheng, Chen Kaixian from the China Academy of Social Sciences and vice president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Mao Junfa were appointed to lead the committees of integrated circuits, bio-medicine and artificial intelligence, respectively.
Members include Zhou Zijun, CEO of the Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp, Mao Ying, vice president of Huashan Hospital and Liu Yunhui, director of Shanghai Lin’gang Artificial Intelligence Lab.
