Medical youth team honored for Pakistan work

The medical aid team sent by the city’s Huashan Hospital to Gwadar Port in Pakistan has won the top medical youth prize to honor their efforts in Pakistan, Shanghai Health Commission announced over the weekend.

The five-member team served in Pakistan for six months, offering outpatient services, 24-hour emergency services and health education.

They also gave local residents free health checks, lectures and infectious disease prevention and control, winning appreciation from locals.

The medical emergency center of Fengxian District was also honored by the authority for providing first aid and emergency services for residents and reducing the time of ambulances reaching patients from 16.61 minutes to 13.61 minutes, greatly improving the survival and recovery rate.
