Cultural tourism college opens

Famous local adult education institution Shanghai Open University and Shanghai Hengshan (Group) Inc, a hotel and catering management company, launched a cultural tourism college on Sunday.

The college will be based at two branches of the university in Jing’an and Yangpu districts. 

It will provide both vocational training and academic education for in-service staff and people interested in working in the cultural tourism industry, to promote comprehensive professional skills and ethics for staff in the industry. 

After graduation, students can not only gain diplomas, but also vocational qualifications.

The college aims to close the gap between education and employment and to better serve the development of cultural tourism in Shanghai.

It is expected to provide intellectual and labor support for Shanghai to become a world-famous tourism destination.
