The Bund Finance Center near Yuyuan Garden will officially open by the end of 2019 along with the world's first Kyoto House developed by Japan's Kyoto Prefecture.

Handicraft masters from Kyoto are set to showcase their traditional skills and work at the Bund Finance Center near Yuyuan Garden which is due to open later this year.

The first Kyoto House, an exhibition center developed by Japan's Kyoto Prefecture, will display cultural and innovative handicrafts.

Exhibits and products on display will be renewed regularly, while heritage masters visiting from Kyoto will interact with local customers, the center announced on Tuesday.

The project is part of a strategic cooperation between FOSUN International, owner of the center, and the Kyoto Prefecture government. The cooperation aims to promote cultural and economic exchanges with Kyoto, according to FOSUN.

"Kyoto has been the origin of Japanese culture and art. We hope to strengthen cultural exchanges, as well as technical and corporate capabilities, while bringing further innovation through the cooperation," said Takatoshi Nishiwaki, Kyoto Prefecture's governor.

The finance center, featuring 180-meter-tall twin edifices on the Bund, is scheduled to open by the end of this year as a complex featuring office buildings, shopping centers, art galleries, a hotel and health management sectors.
