TV specials celebrate 70th anniversary of Shanghai liberation

Shanghai Media Group will present a series of TV programs this month to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Shanghai.

Shanghai was liberated on May 27, 1949. A special news report will be aired on Dragon TV and Knews on Sunday to look back at the historical moment and the achievements of the city since then.

Documentaries “The Year of the Liberation of Shanghai” and “Grand Shanghai” will also be aired to pay tribute to the generations of people who contributed to the city's development.

Additionally, historical movies and TV dramas will debut on the local screen, including “Sentinel Under the Neon Lights,” “The Battle of Shanghai” and “Rookie Agent Rouge.”
