Fine, clear Friday then showers over weekend
The temperature on Friday is expected to remain at 34 degrees Celsius one more day with very low humidity, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
The high on Thursday was recorded at 34.3 degrees at the benchmark Xujiahui weather station and marked the day as the warmest one so far this year.
Friday will repeat Thursday with strong sunshine, dryness and heat. The wind will increase a bit in the afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to drop to 26 degrees over the weekend with some showers beginning on Saturday night. There is also a chance for thundershowers.
Showers are expected to continue on Monday but clear up by Tuesday when temperatures will start a warming trend again. The mercury is likely to bounce back to 30 degrees next weekend.
