Shanghai's Renji Hospital leads on digestive diseases treatment
The Jiang Shaoji Foundation for Education and Development of Digestive Diseases was unveiled at Renji Hospital on Saturday, when a seminar on digestive diseases was launched.
Dr Jiang Shaoji is the founder of China’s digestive disease research and treatment and the founder and first director of Shanghai Digestive Diseases Institute, making a great contribution to the development of digestive diseases medicine in China.
The foundation will sponsor young and middle-aged doctors for clinical research and education to improve their clinical capability and improve the professional ability of China’s digestive diseases treatment, said Dr Fang Jingyuan, vice president of Renji Hospital and Jiang’s student.
“There is an increase of chronic gastritis, chronic atrophic gastritis and chronic liver diseases in recent years," Fang said.
"As a leader in digestive diseases treatment in the nation, Renji Hospital has tried hard to help improve the overall ability in China and there are over 100 doctors from other parts of the nation to receive training in Renji for over three months every year,” Fang said, “The foundation will focus more on doctors from rural and outlying areas.”
