Fireflies: Angels of the night
A firefly culture and science popularization exhibition kicked off at Andersen Paradise in Yangpu District on Saturday, the Children's Day.
The show taught observation and knowledge of the magical insects. It comprises three areas, including two enclosed dark exhibition halls.
At the ecological experience, visitors are able to observe the growth of the creatures closely.
The fireflies are not captured from the wild, but through artificial incubation, the paradise operator said.
After the event, the larvae will be released into nature.
The exhibition through June 9 aims to create a platform for children living in cities to see fireflies and raise their awareness of nature.
