A new science education project "Yeah Kids" has been launched this month at the museum.

The Shanghai Natural History Museum has launched a new science education project for children aged between 3 and 6, allowing them to get to know the realities and charm of the natural world.

“Yeah Kids,” starting from this month, features a wide range of activities such as classes, shows, interactive exhibitions, lab experiments and outdoor expeditions.

The theme of this month is “fantastic animals.” Through games and quiz, cosplay and puppetry shows, and a tour around the museum, the little kids can know how baby kangaroos grow up, which animals are the best disguisers in nature and who can survive the chilly winter.

In the next months, activities will be offered to let children know about the world of insects, plants, underwater lives and human beings. Details are available on the museum’s WeChat account: snhm01.

According to the museum, 70 percent of the visitors to the facility are families, mostly with children aged between 3 and 6. So, the museum decided to design a set of activities suitable for this age bracket of kids.
