A central government taskforce fighting gang crime will be in Shanghai for the next month to oversee work in the city.

Local citizen are welcome to call 021-52397077 from 8am to 8pm or write to PO Box A002 to provide leads on gang crimes till June 30. 

At a pep rally, Wu Yuliang, leader of the taskforce, urged law enforcement and justice departments to do more to win the battle against organized crime.

Li Qiang, Shanghai Party chief, demanded full cooperation with the taskforce. Any problems found should be rectified according to an agreed timetable.

On May 28, an upgraded version of the national gang crime informant platform went live.

The public can now provide leads via the official website of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee as well as through the commission’s WeChat and Weibo accounts.
