Party Secretary Li meets US university chairman
Li Qiang, Party secretary of Shanghai, met Dawood Farahi, chairman of Kean University in the United States, yesterday.
The exchange and cooperation in the education sector between China and other countries is beneficial for humane relationships and friendship between nations and cities, Li said, adding that he appreciated Mr. Farahi’s long-term commitment to the exchanges and cooperation between China and the US.
Li voiced hope that the two parties can work together to make more contributions to the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations in the future.
The strengthening of exchanges and cooperation between China and the US will be helpful in breeding talent and boosting the friendly relationship between the two countries, Farahi noted. “I’m happy to enhance the exchanges and cooperation between China and the US in education on the basis of existing cooperation,” he said.
Zhuge Yujie, secretary-general of the CPC Shanghai Committee, also attended the meeting.
