Taskforce's gang crime message
A central government taskforce fighting gang crime in Shanghai stressed discipline in the law enforcement and justice departments on Thursday.
The taskforce, led by Wu Yuliang, visited the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, the cadre management department of the CPC Shanghai Committee and Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection.
Wu asked the city’s police force to strive for bigger results in fighting gang crime by strengthening discipline, reforming the force and using technology to assist police work.
He also required that Party cadres at grassroots level shoulder their responsibilities and wage an unequivocal war on gang crime to make people feel safer.
Those who violate discipline rules should be held responsible through a stepped-up discipline inspection, Wu said.
