A performance blends Peking and Huaiju operas.

A variety of activities will be unfolded in Xuhui District to mark Cultural and Natural Heritage Day on Saturday during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.

The activities hosted by the Xuhui District Administration of Culture and Tourism include Chinese opera performances blending Peking and Huaiju operas, Peking opera experiences, a seminar of martial art xingyiquan and an exhibition.

Craftsmen showed off their skills in stone carving, sachet making and dough modeling at the scene.

Zongzi (glutinous rice dumpling) served during the Dragon Boat Festival, were also made.

An exhibition telling the history of Longhua in Xuhui started at Longhua Temple on Thursday.  Visitors are able to experience a virtual version of the temple fair, enjoy shadow plays and guqin (Chinese zither) performances, and learn cotton spinning skills. The exhibition will run through June 28.

A seminar on xingyiquang, the oldest of three Wudang internal martial arts, will be held in Xuhui on Sunday, with martial artists competing at the scene.
