Civilizations meet at 'Innovation & Tradition'
Themed “Innovation & Tradition,” the 9th International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts at Shanghai Art Collection Museum features works by artists and craftsmen from about 20 countries, including Austria, India and Nepal.
To adequately represent the meeting between Western and Eastern civilizations, organizers sent delegations around the world to engage with local governments, art institutions and artists.
Visitors can find sculptures, flax and bodiless lacquerware from China, along with lacquerware from Japan, carpets and enamel from Iran, Latvian glass, amber from Lithuania and origami from Israel.
As part of the exhibition, the 7th International (Shanghai) Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Forum was held at Shanghai Art & Design Academy.
The exhibition is organized by Shanghai Creative Industry Association and Changning District.
