Delta region reaches accord on senior care

Shanghai and the provinces of Anhui, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday on integrated senior care in the Yangtze River Delta region. 

Civil affairs authorities will unify management of senior-care agencies and establish credibility and blacklist systems. They will train nurses and recognize each other's standards in senior care.

Senior service maps and a community-based consultant system will be launched to help people find suitable care. 

The nursing standards in dementia will be raised based on Shanghai's practices. 

Eleven districts in Shanghai and cities including Jiaxing, Suzhou and Wuhu will pilot the regional integration. 

Qingpu District in Shanghai, Wujiang District in Suzhou, and Jiashan County in Jiaxing will trial information sharing.
