U17 football tournament kicks off in July

Sixteen U17 school football teams from seven countries will compete in the China (Shanghai) International Youth Football Invitational 2019 from July 8.

They include teams from Australia, Belgium, Cameroon, France, Peru and Spain. The other 10 teams are from the Chinese mainland, including three from Shanghai.

The 32 matches will take place in Minhang, Putuo, Qingpu and Yangpu districts.

Besides the matches, there will also be a forum for players, coaches and officials to discuss campus football.

An online photography competition will consist of photos of the matches, the players and their stay in Shanghai.

Four ambassadors, high school students who are good both academically and at football, will be selected to promote the annual tournament.
