An academy to study on integrative medicine has been established at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The Academy of Integrative Medicine aims to gather talent who combine traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine to build an innovation demonstration base for integrative medicine.

It also wants to establish a center of academic achievement with global influence and a base to research preventing and treating diseases, using TCM and Western medicine.

Li Qi, executive president of the Shuguang Hospital affiliated to the university, was appoint as dean of the newly-established academy.
