Students take part in maritime knowledge contest
A total of 30 students from 10 primary schools visited the China Maritime Museum in Shanghai's Lingang area on Thursday to take part in a competition about maritime knowledge.
It is the first time the city has organized such a contest, with the aim to improve interest in navigation and marine science.
The contest was designed as a treasure hunt.
The students had to find 48 clues and complete eight stages within a set time.
Puzzles included using Morse code to unmask riddles and tying sailor's knot.
After heated competition, four teams stood out from the preliminary contest. The finals will be held on July 2.
Shanghai Transport Commission said that as China National Maritime Day on July 11 draws near, more events will be organized.
