New medical cooperation between Shanghai and Jiaxing

Shanghai’s Xinhua Hospital announced on Sunday a cooperation deal with the Jiaxing Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital in neighboring Zhejiang Province.

Patients in Jiaxing can now enjoy a same-day cross-provincial transfer between the two hospitals as part of the increasing integration of the Yangtze River Delta region.

Xinhua Hospital was also invited by the Jiaxing city government to manage pediatrics departments of all city-level hospitals in Jiaxing to enhance cooperation and set up a regional pediatric network.

Under the connection of medical insurances between the two regions, patients in Jiaxing can reserve and register for outpatient clinic treatment by Xinhua’s specialists and take a train to Xinhua Hospital for medical service on the same day.

Dr Sun Kun, president of Xinhua Hospital, said the cooperation with Jiaxing will help local doctors achieve the same standards as Xinhua, improving the medical capabilities in Jiaxing.
