Friendship association elects new chairman
Sha Hailin, vice chairman of the standing committee of Shanghai People's Congress and former Chinese ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, was elected new chairman of the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries on Saturday.
The association also elected its new board of directors on Saturday.
Founded in September 1956, the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries has made great achievements in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between Shanghai and the peoples of other countries.
The new board pledged to keep expanding and deepening Shanghai’s foreign exchanges with the rest of the world.
