Aircraft carrier docks at Metro station

A model of China's aircraft carrier Liaoning will be on display for a month to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People's Liberation Army Navy and the National Maritime Day.

A model of Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning is on display at the People’s Square Metro station to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Liberation Army Navy and the 15th China National Maritime Day on Thursday.

Liaoning started service in 2012 as the Chinese navy's first aircraft carrier.

One hundredth actual size, the model is 3 meters long by 75 centimeters wide.

The model will be at the station until August 8, along with pictures and fun facts about the carrier.
