Arrests approved in alleged child molestation case

The Putuo District People's Procuratorate has approved the arrest of a 57-year-old man alleged to have molested a 9-year-old girl in a Shanghai hotel along with a 49-year-old woman.
The procuratorate said the case is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, police in the district are gathering evidence and have appealed for help from the public.
Police in Putuo said they received a report from the girl’s mother at 10pm on June 30 saying her daughter had been taken by a friend, a woman surnamed Zhou, from their hometown in Jiangsu Province to a hotel in Shanghai, where she claimed the girl was then molested by a man surnamed Wang.
After police questioned the man, who is also from Jiangsu, Zhou turned herself in the following day.
