Mayor Ying meets Japanese business leader

Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Shingo Tsuji, president and CEO of Mori Building Co from Japan, in Shanghai on Friday.

China and Japan are important trade partners for each other, and there are more than 50,000 Japanese living and working in Shanghai. Shanghai is learning from the garbage-sorting experiences of Japan and other countries, Ying said.

As the investor in the Shanghai World Financial Center, Mori Building Co has made contributions to the development of Shanghai since 1990, and the city welcomes foreign companies, including Mori Building, to actively take part in the urban development and renovation of old areas in Shanghai, the mayor added.

“We have a special feeling about Shanghai as our first project overseas is in the city. Every time I visit Shanghai I can feel the huge difference happening here.” Tsuji said, adding that Mori Building will make more contributions to the development of Shanghai in the future.
