China's traditional operas are the focus of a program hosted by the Xietu Subdistrict Community Center that runs till the end of July.

A festival of traditional Chinese operas has opened in Xuhui District.
Hosted by the Xietu Subdistrict Community Center, it will run thorugh July 31.
Performers from local theater troupes covering Peking Opera, Kunqu Opera, Huju Opera, Yueju Opera and Huaiju Opera will present a series of shows during the festival.
They will also interact with audiences and exchange their opinions on the artistry of traditional Chinese operas.
Meanwhile, an inheritance base of traditional Chinese theater has been established at the community center.
In the future, at least 20 public-interest Chinese opera performances will be staged at the base each year. Classic Chinese opera films will also be screened.
