Top artists give lectures on culture

A lecture series by the country’s renowned artists was launched at the Jing’an District Culture Center on Sunday.

World-renowned baritone Liao Changyong, famous writer Mao Shian and reputable landscape painter Xiao Chunhai shared their views of how to promote Chinese art on the world stage to kick off the lecture series.

According to the trio, it is of vital importance for Chinese artists to understand our tradition and they should embrace the great elements of other art forms and cultures for better development.

According to Mi Xue, who initiated the project, the series will be a unique platform to bring together the nation’s great artists to discuss about the future development of Chinese traditional culture while building a bridge between the public and the artists to make art more accessible.

The project is being financially funded by the Jing’an government as it looks to attract renowned artists to the district to build a great cultural ambience and seek cooperation.
