Kindergarten to pay for injured child

A kindergarten in Changning District has been ordered to pay 218,000 yuan (US$31,000) compensation to the family of a child injured in a fall.

The 5-year-old girl sustained a fracture when she fell from a climbing frame in September, 2016.

The parents of the girl filed a lawsuit with the district people's court in January this year, accusing the kindergarten of failing to protect the child and demanding compensation of 236,000 yuan.

The kindergarten insisted it was an accident and that its teacher had taken protective measures.

However, the court said there were seven or eight children climbing the frame at the same time and only one teacher watching them.
