Minhang District has started to dig lake in the Zizhu National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Minhang District has started to scoop out an artificial lake in the east of Zizhu National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone.
The lake, named Lanxiang, will cover 400,000 square meters at an average depth of about 4 meters.
Excavation started on August 16 and may take two years.
The lake will have a 4-kilometer waterfront with commercial zones, jogging areas, galleries, a boat club and a hotel.
On a bend in the Huangpu River, the lake will receive water from the river, forming a new ecosystem in the development zone.
