Health units to clean up rural life
A total of 136 villages and towns in rural areas are to build pilot “health units” to boost health management and disease prevention, according to Shanghai Health Commission.
The environment, sewage treatment, toilet renovation, garbage processing and pest control are all key targets for the units, the commission said,
The health authority has signed agreement with Fudan University's public health college to train, evaluate and manage officials by 2020.
The government wants all rural residents to have their own toilets at home and the environment improve through constriction of the units.
