An old shikumen building on Shaanxi Road S. caught fire around midday Friday in Jing'an district.
Firefighters were quickly on scene and had the fire under control within 30 minutes. An ambulance was also in attendance, although the fire department confirmed there were no casualties.
Residents nearby said the fire started in a clothing store which was closed at the time. The reason of the fire is still under investigation.
