China’s General Administration of Customs' global trade monitoring center signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai University of International Business and Economics on Friday.

The university will work with the center in training, research, industrialization, talent exchange and think-tank services, in the hope of coming up with better foreign trade policies.

The university will develop trade indexes while the center will provide data and opportunities for field research, principally in the Yangtze River Economic Zone and local FTZs, but also making use of the highly successful China International Import Expo.

The university will train specialist staff for customs with the center providing internships and other practical opportunities for students and teachers.
