In the latest step on the city's journey to becoming the center of China’s science and innovation, Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Resources Center signed an agreement on Friday with European Grid Infrastructure, a Dutch non-profit organization focused on international cooperation.

EGI will provide support and open its data platform to help Shanghai build more scientific infrastructure and data centers.

Zhu Yue, head of SSTIR, said data resources are key to the future of the city as a center of science and innovation.

“EGI will help us to help institutions and companies in their own transformations,” Zhu said.
