A leading artificial intelligence incubator in Changning District is promoting AI and robotic technologies at local elementary schools.

SIMIC-CREATER, an incubator for the AI and Internet of Things industry, held its first exhibition at Yuyuan Road No. 1 Elementary School on Wednesday. Start-ups and high-tech firms under the incubation platform showcased their latest robots to over 200 students at the school.

The incubator was jointly established by the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Creater, the firm in charge of revamping Yuyuan Road, and the science and technology commission of Changning.

A large number of leading AI firms are gathered at the incubation platform. Shanghai Changrui Information Co, for instance, has developed a smart robot that can dance, perform Chinese martial arts and have conversations with humans.

One of its latest robots, named You You, was presented to students at the school during a lecture on AI. Its language system is based on technology from AI giant iFlyteck.

Engineers from another tech company guided students to assemble a simple robot that can raise the national flag automatically. Other applications and scenarios for robots were also introduced.

More such lectures and exhibitions have been planned at other elementary schools in Changning District, according to SIMIC-CREATER.
