Renovated office space brings new life to old Xintiandi complex
An exhibition "City Jungle" will run through October 10.
An aging building at the southeast corner of Xintiandi has been renovated as a multipurpose office space in the rising commercial area of the city’s most sought-after destination.
NEXXUS is located at the corner of Xizang Road S. and Jianguoxin Road.
The five-floor building was an old-fashioned commercial complex so the rental of the building was much lower than its neighbors.
The renovation, led by Sandhill Group, started last year, and now the site is a modern complex, featuring green architecture and shared spaces. Public corridors are designed as expansions of offices with sofas, tables and plants. The terrace on the fifth floor offers a place to breathe during breaks from work.
Not only office space, the building has coffee shops, banks and an art exhibition which will run through October 10.
Liu Lei, managing director of Sandhill, said the project is more than just a urban renewal, but creates an ideal workplace and a new landmark of at the southeast corner of Xintiandi.
