Pudong forum seeks civil affairs cooperation

The Yangtze Delta River region is seeking cooperation for better management of community and civil affairs.

At a forum held on Saturday in Pudong, Shanghai and another six cities from the region signed an agreement to address issues of grassroots officials in communities.

The forum will come up with training plans, standards and solutions for grassroots officials to deal with problems in their work.

Wu Zongyou from Anhui school of sociology and political science said the forum will deliver the public opinion to policymakers and explain policies to the public.

“Information, resources and policies in the region can be shared. New measures can be applied to the region first and then nationwide,” he said.
