WeChat program delivers free contraception
Shanghai residents can get free contraception tools delivered straight to their doors using a new WeChat program called Aideliwu, literally "gift of love," health authorities said on Thursday, which also marked World Contraception Day.
The day was set up in 2007 to raise awareness of unexpected pregnancy, promote healthy contraception and boost reproductive health, officials from Shanghai Health Commission said.
In addition to the new program, local residents can get free contraception tools at some 10,000 self-service locations and consultation stations. The government-run app Suishenban also provides the addresses of such places.
