Concert kicks off International Arts Festival
A “Red Classic” Concert was held at Shanghai City Lawn Music Plaza in downtown Huangpu District on Wednesday evening to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Presented by Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra with Lin Yousheng being the conductor, the concert served as the opening for a series of performances to be presented at the music plaza during the 21st China Shanghai International Arts Festival.
Patriotism-themed songs like “Ode to Red Flag” and selected music from “The Red Detachment of Women” were performed during the concert.
The one-month arts festival will officially kick off on Friday. The Some 26 performances are to be presented at the music plaza until November 4, fearing musical concerts, dances, dramas and magic shows.
