The 7th China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair is to be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center between November 15 and 17. It is expected to attract 40,000 visitors, the city's press and publication bureau said on Tuesday.

More than 60,000 of the latest children's books will be displayed at the annual fair and nearly a third will be from abroad.

A Chinese version of Polish Nobel Laureate Olga Tokarczuk's only picture book, "The Lost Soul," will make its debut at the fair.

More than 400 domestic and overseas exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions will take part in the fair, covering fields such as traditional publishing, digital publishing, cultural and innovative products, toys and education.

Around 200 exhibitors will be foreign, an increase of 25 percent compared with last year. More than 30 percent of foreign exhibitors will be at the fair for the first time, including a group from the United Arab Emirates.

The fair will be in two parts, one for professionals and the other for the public. The professional section is mainly for industry insiders' copyright transactions, product ordering and communication, while the public section will provide books and reading events for children and their families.

The Golden Pinwheel International Young Illustrators Competition will exhibit prize-winning works and the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award winners will be announced.

There will be two exhibitions of children's books related to art, architecture and design, and pop-up books.
