Local health authorities have kicked off a health promotion campaign among governmental officials. The campaign is part of the "Healthy Shanghai" project, which is meant to boost public health through service and education.

Knowledge about healthy diet, proper exercise, mental stress, disease prevention and control, female healthcare and emergency aid are key components of the campaign, officials said.

Education, consultation and lectures will be offered to help governmental officials adopt a healthy lifestyle, said the Shanghai Health Commission.

Problems like obesity, fatty liver, hemorrhoids, high blood uric acid and thyroid nodules are prevalent among local office workers, previous reports show.
